The Wingman Shark Plane is designed to patrol the Gold Coast coastline during peak beach hours, using AI-assisted detection to identify and track marine activity and relay information to surf lifesaving teams.

Wingman's concept uses AI-assisted marine detection to help turn aerial observations into operational information. The system is designed around real-time location, movement and species identification where possible, followed by direct communication to teams on the coast.

Wingman Air is the aviation organisation behind Safer Beaches. The program combines aircraft operations, pilots, AI-assisted observation and direct communication with marine response teams.

The Gold Coast is stage one. The concept is designed to demonstrate how aviation can complement existing beach safety tools and support a scalable model for other coastal regions.
